It’s a new month and time to explore the possibilities of a new block. This month let’s discover what can be done with Jacob’s Ladder. The Jacob’s Ladder quilt block is made up of the basic four patch and half square triangle blocks.
It is easy to make, even for the beginning quilter. You know I like this block because it works so well with my scraps. And by playing with where I place fabric and how I arrange colors. I never make the same quilt twice.
Let’s see what’s possible. First we can go with tradition. Creating rows and furrows diagonally through the quilt.
Next we can change up where we put lights and darks. Then twist and turn the blocks to get a completely different look.
Finally we can play with alternate blocks in addition to the Jacob’s Ladder block. I did this with wonky stars in this quilt.
As you can see this block is fun to play with. If you would like help exploring this block further. I have an on demand workshop that explores this block further. You will learn about color and value. In addition you will receive 12 different scrap quilt layouts to play with. Watch now and as often as you like for one year. Click to learn more.
