Scraps seem to multiply as soon as we turn off the sewing room lights. While I could give my scraps away to thin the herd. And sometimes I do. Most times I take it as a challenge to create something new. I’m working on a big scrap busting project at the moment. It will be a while before I can reveal it. But I will be sharing sneak peeks along the way. These scrap busting pinwheels are your first teaser.
I used my AccuQuilt Go to cut the half square triangles. I love cutting HST with my Go. It makes the process quick. I know my pieces are accurate. Plus there are no dog ears to cut off when I’m done sewing. See my favorite scrap busting dies in this post.
I’ve had fun combining fabrics, colors and value while sorting through my scrap bins. The possibilities are endless. I’m focusing these pinwheels on bright, bold colors in medium to dark shades. Here is a little peek at the process. In case you would like to make a few scrap busting pinwheels.
Have fun! But be careful! They are addictive.
