Quiltmaker Mystery Ruby Jubilee Blocks

The next batch of blocks for Quiltmaker’s Ruby Jubilee Mystery are available. The talented Bonnie Hunter designed these scrap friendly blocks. They are available in the latest issue of Quiltmaker magazine. This is the second set of blocks. The first set were in the previous magazine.

Don’t worry if you missed them. You can still order the magazine. I also know that there will be lots of options for putting this quilt together. So if you don’t get all the blocks made you will still have quilt options. That said you are not going to want to miss any of these great blocks.

The blocks shown in the magazine are done in red. I’m going with a more scrappy feel. I will include red in each block. In addition I will be using yellow, brown, green and blue. My backgrounds will be scrappy low volume prints.

I normally do not like a mystery, especially when it comes to creating a quilt. Because this one is a sampler style I’m game. A sampler quilt can be played with. Allowing me to play with settings. So I’m pretty confident I will like the finished quilt.

The blocks so far have been great. I’m having fun playing with color placement. As they collect on my design wall the excitement for this quilt builds. These scrappy spinning stars has my creative juices flowing. I may need to incorporate them into other quilts.

These fabrics are GORGEOUS!! I realize you’re working from scraps but do you recall the lines or designers of any of the fabrics you’re using in the samples shown? Thanks!
