Square in a Square Charm Quilt

Welcome to Moving it Forward Monday. What are you moving forward? Remember to share in the comments or on the Facebook page. I’m sharing progress on my charm square quilt.

I created charms by cutting into a Kaffe layer cake I had on hand and quartering it. After taking each charm and creating a square in a square block. I added sashing and corner post. By putting the charm on point I created a diamond look. While the corner posts remained the traditional square. I like the effect this had on the over all quilt.

This is my Treasures pattern that I recently updated by adding instructions by adding cutting instructions for those who have the AccuQuilt Go system. In addition to traditional cutting instructions you can now use your dies to cut this out. Making it that much faster. For someone who detests cutting, that’s a big bonus.

I’ve also added AccuQuilt Die cutting to my Sunshine on a Cloudy Day and Rhythm and Blues patterns. With these patterns I also added more sizes. I’m working on doing this with many of my patterns. I’ll keep you posted as they become available.

After sewing my blocks and sashing together. I took my charm quilt flimsy out into the spring sunshine for a photo shoot. First among the tulips. Then up into the cherry tree to dance with the blossoms.

Love this, it’s pretty and looks way more complicated than it is! This would be great for larger scraps.

Beautiful and serene. Love the background color you chose too.

What a fun way to use a charm pack! I cut lots of my scraps into charm sizes. I’m one of these people that love cutting and making sewing kits for myself! This is perfect!
