I learned this quick and easy way to make a 16 patch from Sarah of Confessions of a Fabric Addict. Her method uses two layer cakes squares and you end up with two 8″ finished blocks. Pretty cool! You can find pretty layer cakes at great prices at the AccuQuilt” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Accuquilt has a 10″ die so you can cut a bunch at one time.
I love this method to bust through leftover layer cake squares. Am I the only one that ends up with these? I keep them in a bin and when I have a bunch they become scrappy 16 patches. Several of our Quilty Hugs have used this method. Just Dessert and Fruition also use this quick and easy method.
