Experimenting with Free Motion Quilting

You may know that the last block in my Smooth Sailing Sew Along dropped recently. While I’ve had the top done for some time. A perk of being the designer. My quilt get done first. I had not gotten around to quilting it. With the recent purchase of my Amara long arm. I’ve been having fun experimenting with FMQ. The bonus is that not only am I learning, I’m finishing up tops.

The newest quilt on my machine is the Smooth Sailing quilt. I’m having fun creating clouds.

As well as rolling ocean waves. It has been fun experimenting with FMQ. I’m looking forward to watching my skills improve.

Just a little more to quilt and I’ll be ready to bind.

It’s Monday! That means it’s time for Moving it Forward. I’ve shared my progress. Now it’s your turn. Leave a comment letting me know what you’ve been moving forward. Or share a picture in the Facebook group. I’ looking forward to seeing what you are creating.

I just completed a two part class on free motion that was given at my local fabric store. It opened a whole new world and in the week in between the two classes I made and FMQ’d two throws for my Grand Dogs. Now I have the courage to work on larger projects which are piling up.
