I’ve got a treat for you today. Whether you are a beginner or advanced these 5 easy quilt blocks are great for busting through your scraps. They can made into countless quilt designs. And if you have an AccuQuilt Go. You can cut time and sew more buy cutting each out with this great tool.

5 Simple Blocks

Our first scrap friendly block is nine patch. This classic block is so versatile. Use it to generate movement in your quilts by creating a chain effect. Arrange the nine squares in a traditional x or make it totally scrappy. Learn how I use the AccuQuilt Go to quickly create nine patch blocks.

Another easy and versatile quilt block is the pinwheel. This block has a happy vibe and is another great block for creating movement in your quilt. Just four half square triangles set together. I like to cut my half square triangles with my Go. It is so accurate. Plus there are no dog ears to deal with afterward. But will also use this method when using pre cut strips.

The patience block is a variation on the nine patch. It is also a great way to create a chain through your quilt. It is also good for a zig zag look.

A friendship star is a variation of the nine patch with the movement of the pinwheel. Feel free to play with switching up the center. Try a different fabric or for extra fun try some fussy cutting.

The final block I’m sharing today is the bow tie. I love all the different layouts you can create with this block. Try an X and O look. Or a zig zag effect. They will also create a chain.
