I believe that the desires in your heart are given to you by God. If your desire helps you be come better. Helps someone else become better. Or makes the world better in any way. Then you have a responsibility to take that desire and create it. This belief is one of the main reasons I share my love of scrap quilting.
Reading my scriptures, meditating and journaling are a part of my morning routine. I will often begin this ritual with a question in mind. Recently I decided to see what the Lord has to say about our desires. If this is not your thing. Stop reading and go check out a tutorial or one of my patterns. If your interest. Let me tell you what I learned.
Desires
It states in the scriptures God granteth men according to their desires. (Alma 28: 4 This is a Book of Mormon reference. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. So this is part of my scriptures. I’d be happy to get you a free copy if you are interested. Just let me know.)
Take Action
Furthermore, Philippians 4:8, tells us “If it is virtuous, lovely or of good report seek after these things.” We are also told repeatedly that if we seek we will find. That God gives us power. (2 Timothy 1:7) We know from the parable of the talents that he will increase our efforts. (Matt. 25: 15-29) But we do have to put forth effort. After all faith without works is dead.
On a podcast recently, I heard that the key to success it to think big but work small. Sorry I don’t remember which podcast it was. The scriptures also state, “That by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.” (Alma 37: 6)
I hope this helps you. That it motivates you to create, to grow and to help others to do the same. Now go create. Remember to share what you’re creating on the Facebook page. Who knows you may inspire someone else to create.
Thank you. This is a beautiful blog post. I didn’t realize how much I needed it until I read and watched. It brought me to tears.
