This happy little quilt is one I made back when my toe was broken and I couldn’t drive. My dear neighbor rescued me and bought the orange fabric. You may remember I misplaced the fabric. I still haven’t found it. It is hiding so well in my sewing room. Once I was able to drive again, I got it basted. It’s been sitting in a stack waiting to be quilted since. Now that my shoes match, funny story about that in a moment. I’m getting through the pile. I did a simple stipple and it went very fast. YEA!
Now let me share with you a funny thing that happened at the post office recently. I was still in the protective shoe but able to drive. While waiting in line at the post office a cute little three year old, behind me in line, asked her mom if I was unable to find my other shoe. She figured that was why my shoes didn’t match. Her mamma was embarrassed. It just made me laugh.
Yesterday I had a fun day with the Layton Quilt Guild teaching this quilt. The ladies were delightful. It was fun to see their sheep come together. I took a video for my Instagram story but forgot to take pictures. I hope they will share their finished quilts with me.
Your quilt is adorable! I love the wonky orange sashing! It really makes the quilt special.
I truly love orange, it is such a happy color.
Both the quilts are so cute – love the tie dyed sheep one! That is a funny story about the shoes!
Love your quilt — could that be because I love orange??? Lol! Sorry you couldn't find matching shoes for your trip to the post office. Kids say the darnedest things, don't they? Hahahahaha!
Oh my goodness – that little girls comment was priceless!! and your tie dyed sheep! Perfect!
That sure IS a bright, happy quilt! And I think the shoe comment is hilarious. I don’t know why the mother was embarrassed. When my son Ryan was 3, he blurted out a question to us while waiting in line for Santa Claus. It had to do with a body part he was wondering if Santa had ….. now THAT was embarrassing!
Such a bright and cheerful quilt!! Looking forward to seeing your student "Tie Dyed" quilt. I've always loved that pattern!
