I have a cute niece who has always enjoyed sewing with me. As a toddler she would gather up scraps in my sewing room and arrange them on my design wall.
Each time she comes to visit the first thing she asks is if we can sew. Isn’t that wonderful? Over the years we have made pillows and zipper pouches. This year she is making pajamas for her brother and sisters. She has become quite the little seamstress.
In honor of her I designed this quilt. I call it Mary’s Garden. I made it a few years back and have been asked several times for a pattern. I’ve finally got around to doing it. It was fun to revisit these scrappy blocks as I refreshed my memory of how I made them.
You can find the pattern here. Also check out the great flash sale at Fat Quarter Shop. The Sno winter fat quarter bundle would make a fabulous winter quilt.
that is a really cute quilt and so nice that your niece is still sewing!
I really like this one. I'm sure your niece is thrilled to have it named in memory of her.
Mary's garden is so lovely–really nice work hugs, Julierose
Lovely! One of my faves in a quilt–scrappy tulips.:)
A lovely quilt! Those scrappy tulips are delightful!
Looked for the pattern on your page but did not see it. Is it still available?
