When I saw this plus quilt pattern in one of my quilt magazines. I’m sorry I can’t find the one I saw it in at the moment. To say my sewing room is a mess may be a bit of an understatement. I’ll post it when I find it. I knew I had to make it.
I pulled all my gray and light blue scraps and started cutting them into 2 1/2″ strips with myGo Cutter. I didn’t worry about length. I just made sure they were at least wide enough for the strip and long enough to get a few of the pieces cut once the strip was made. I then sub-cut them into the needed sizes. After auditioning different fabrics for the plus signs I came up with a few reds, greens and yellows I liked. I quilted it a 1/4″ from the seams to created framed squares. My binding angel, Sherri bond it in black for me.
I just love how it looks hanging in the tree with the lovely fall leaves around it. Thank you for your great response to last weeks giveaway. Your kind comments meant so much. The winner for last weeks giveaway is Julie in WA. Congratulations! Send me your snail mail and I’ll get your magazine off to you.
I like it – the plus quilt has been on my list for simple scrap quilts for awhile now
Love it!
Love it! I can see why you had to make this pattern as soon as you saw it. It's a slightly different take on the plus quilts that are so popular. Great color palette, too.
i love this and that pattern as well..have seen it in several variations and, well, i like them all
like this pattern and your interpretation….all the variations i've seen are very nice…
It'a beautiful, I love it 🙂
A lovely fall finish. Thanks for sharing all your pluses.
I've never tried black binding but I like how yours looks a lot! You have used a lovely seasonal colour palette too.
