Love Laura

The inspiration for this quilt came from a newspaper clipping my friend, Nora found in her mother in law’s sewing box. I used Sherri and Chelsi’s fabric line, Front Porch for Moda.

It looked similar to these. Nora made me a copy and asked if I could reproduce it for her.

The block in the clipping looked like it had partial and inset seams. I played with different ways to arrange the pieces so this was not the case. I use found that I could use simple strip piecing to make units in the larger block and then arrange those units into the block shown in the clipping.  You can find these easy instructions in the newest issue of easy quilts.
