Lucky Shamrock Quilt Block or Pincushion

If you’ve read my blog for awhile now. You may remember that my brother’s birthday is St. Patrick’s Day. The fact that he was born with red hair, made me think of him as my own little leprechaun. Don’t tell him. I said so. He won’t think it’s as funny as I do. One has to be careful around leprechauns. They can be moody. To increase my luck I’m sharing a lucky shamrock.

Anyway I enjoy St. Patrick’s day. A few years ago I created a simple lucky four leaf clover block. I made one into a pincushion. I hope to one day make a pillow or wall hanging including more of this lucky, scrap friendly block. Last year I shared how to make it with this tutorial. Just incase you would like to make a pincushion or larger project.

If you do. I’d love to see it. Make sure to share your lucky shamrock on my Facebook page.

In addition to Shamrocks how about a few charms. As in charm square quilts.

Simply Charming is my free charm quilt pattern. It is a great way to use up leftover charms. Perfect for the beginning quilter. There are no seams to match. Plus it’s quick and easy.

A Bushel and A Peck is another charm friendly quilt. Create X’s and O’s to share with your lucky someone.

Finally Treasures puts charm squares on point to create diamonds. Now isn’t that lucky.
