Moving It Forward

Welcome to another fine Monday. Time to share a little progress. First up I finished all the stars I needed for my baby quilt. I’m thinking I might need to make one more. Not quite sure how I feel about the one with the navy center. What are your thoughts?

Next I had a fun time listening to podcasts while quilting Gradation. At first I thought I would just be quick and get her done. So I was just going to do an organic line through the scrappy strips.

Once again I was not so happy with the results. So I went back and added a line of quilting a 1/4″ from each seam on the gray rows. Oh I like that much better.

That’s my bit of progress for the week. I’m looking forward to seeing yours. Link up and share what you’ve been moving forward in your sewing room. Can’t wait to see.

Love the two shades of gray on the stars–very nice hugs, Julierose

I think the navy center is too pronounced. Maybe you could use that block on the back with the label appliqued on top of the navy….And you're right about the additional quilting on Gradation. Nice scrappiness in both projects!

My eye is drawn right to that navy center. When I look at a quilt I like to slowly browse through all the fabrics. I like the offset layout.

    Congrats on two scrappy beauties!

I agree, I'd change out the navy block or else another another navy block. The quilting looks very nice.

Lovely star quilt! I agree with Nann and Cathy, maybe a more soft color?

Love all the scrappy colours against grey background. I agree with the others, the navy captures your attention more than the other blocks.

I like the few star points with navy but agree with you that it's too much for the center. Glad you tried it though. You never know.

I love your scrappy stars! I agree with others that the navy center stands out a bit too much for my taste. Thanks for sharing!

Scrappy stars is so sweet! And isn't it interesting how adding a line of stitching can make a difference.
