Moving It Forward

This last week we had a ton of fun making trees and birds for an Enchanted Forest quilt at the Free Spirit Club, held the 4th Thursday of the month atK & H Quilt Shoppe.  Nola is doing her quilt all in Tula Pink.  It’s going to be so bright and fun.  I can barely wait to see the finish.

I love the enthusiasm that Sue had for this class.  She is taking this quilt and making it her own.  She will be making a giant yarn bomb tree.  Then add her wonky birds to the branches and under the tree. Another quilt I can’t wait to see the finish for.

On the home front, my baby, will be serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She received her call this week.  She leaves mid July for the Nevada, Las Vegas West Mission.  I’m so excited for her.  She will do a beautiful job.  She is so loving and accepting of others.  Just not quite sure how I feel about being an empty nester.

How did your week go?  Were you able to make progress on a project or two?  If so link up and let us celebrate with you!

I love the birds of course as I already made a quilt with them – your daughter is so pretty – good luck to her on her mission, I didn't realize young women were now allowed to serve by doing missions – way to go women!

No fun being an empty nester unless you have even more sewing time. Hopefully the time will go quickly for you. Birds and trees are great fun.
