Moving it Forward and a Heart Full of Thanks

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my dear friend and co founder of Quilty Hugs/ Happy Chemo, Ginger Johnson.  She was such a force for good.  She brought out the best in others and always looked for the good.  She was full of hope.  She was patient and kind.  I could go on and on.  I feel so blessed to have had her influence in my life for the past 13 years.

In honor of this amazing woman I took a car load of quilts to Primary Children’s Hospital and Huntsmen Cancer Institute following her funeral.  I can think of no greater tribute to a woman that spent her life helping others in their battle with cancer.  May her legacy live one through the many generous quilters that create such vessels of love and comfort.  Thank you to each and every one of you for sharing your time and talents in this valiant cause.   You have no idea the comfort, hope and love these creations bring.

A special thanks to Sarah for all her efforts in organizing H2H.  I came back from visiting my son to a foyer overflowing with boxes full of Quilty Hugs.  It brought comfort to my heart after the news of Ginger’s passing.  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

Now to honor your generous quilters.  Link up and share what you’re Moving Forward.  I know most of what shows up here is gifted to others.  As Jenny Doan says, “It’s the hobby you start for yourself that soon becomes about everyone else.”
