My daughter has a T shirt collection. She has been adding to it for years. She recently got married. People asked if I was going to make a quilt for her. I wasn’t planning on it. Does that make me a bad mother?
Anna loves old duvets and chenille. She has collected a few beautiful pieces while going to garage sales with my parents. Her tastes are simple. So my bright colorful quilts are not the best fit for her.
But then I got to thinking of her collection of t shirts. She doesn’t wear them. But she has seen t shirt quilts I have made for friends who were sick or had lost a loved one. Nothing brings comfort like wrapping up in good memories. I know she would appreciate and love a quilt made from her t shirts.
So I began adding lightweight fusible web to her t shirts and cutting them up. I don’t cut them all the same size. I do love me a good quilt puzzle. If you are looking for tips on combining blocks of different sizes. I have a tutorial for that. In fact I’m thinking of creating a virtual course on the subject. Let me know in the comments if you would be interested.
I’d be very interested in a tutorial for tshirt quilts!
Love your blog and emails. I’ve learned a lot.
