I hope everyone had a beautiful Mother’s Day yesterday. I feel so blessed to be a mother. It brings me my greatest joys. I am also ever so grateful for my mom, my grandmothers, aunts, sisters and friends who buoy me up, cheer me on, strengthen, love and mother me. I am truly blessed.
In addition to celebrating Mother’s Day, last Monday was my birthday. To celebrate I was treated to a relaxing day. I enjoyed an awesome message, a fun yoga class, and a little scrappy play. These cute little birds were the result. I’m looking forward to creating more along with a few other improv blocks.
Other progress this week included turning the heels in my socks. Oh this makes me excited. Can’t wait for another pair of hand knit socks.
I also can’t wait to see what progress you have made this week. Link up and share what you’re moving forward.
Happy belated birthday and happy mothers day. Thank you for hosting the link party.
A very happy belated birthday! The scrappy birds must be fun to make, your sock makes me want to knit another pair but I must finish a cardigan first.

I just love your birds, Em. I can't wait to see what you do with them.
The socks look toasty. I'll bet they will feel great.
Happy belated birthday. I love your colorful scrappy birds too!
Those birds are so darn cute. Improv? Yea on turning the heel. Dare I admit I did oh, 2" on one cuff over the last week. Better than nothing! Enjoy a quilty week.
You have a nice selection of the blacks for the bird backgrounds (at least they look black in the picture). My black stash is not very good right now.
Glad that you had a nice birthday and Mother's Day! Fun birds!
Special days are wonderful aren't they! Belated happy birthday.
Love your birds and so impressed with your knitted sock turning. Now that's an achievement!
Happy belated Mother's Day AND Happy Belated Birthday, Em! And congratulations on rounding the heels of your socks! 🙂
Belated happy birthday!! Love the bird blocks!,
