This week when I basted quilts with friends. One of the quilts I basted was my wedge quilt. My friend Lori asked me how I was going to quilt it. I told here I was not sure. Suzy told her the names I was toying with; Beads, Lava Lamps, or Beaded Curtain. She thought that if I decided to call it Beaded Curtain it would be fun to quilt strings of beads down it. Well that sealed it for me. Since figuring out how to quilt something is not my strong point. So armed with an idea, I named my quilt, Beaded Curtain. Then went on a hunt for various sized circles to use as templates for my beads.
I guess I could have used my compass. But where’s the fun in that? Odd objects are so much more interesting. So I traced them with a chalk pencil on the quilt and began quilting my bead chains.
Now it’s your turn to show off your progress. Link up and let us see what your moving forward.
Exactly!! Good luck!
I like seeing things we can all use not just the pro's gadgets and gear.
What a great idea! I love the name.
I was intrigued by the picture with the can, etc. Now I see what it is all about.
I use random objects to draw circles as well! Much easier than trying to find where the compass is safely put away!
Those are perfect and won't get out of shape with use!
I love using household items for circles! Can't wait to see the finished quilt. mary in Az
You are a tease! I was looking for the pics of the quilting!!! Next week, I hope.
Clever idea! Those are my kind of templates!
Ha ha….I have even used my bid bread mixing bowl to mark large curves and once I used a salt shaker because it was just the right size.
