Moving It Forward

I decided to go with my plan of aqua for the mini dresdens. I had only been looking in my aqua scrap bin. After all this is a scrap quilt. But my heart was set on aqua so I branched out to my leftover pre cut bin and found a few layer cake and charm squares that would work. I now have my aqua dresdens.

I’m happy I stuck with the plan. I think they will be the perfect addition to the larger red dresdens. I need to get them sewn on the background and all the centers appliqued.

I’ve also started a new scrap project for Sarah’s Scrumptious Scraps quilt along. My strips bins was full and overflowing so that is where my inspiration came. I look forward to sharing my creation with you in March along with a tutorial.

Make sure you follow along on Sarah’s blog. Lot of talented quilters will be sharing scrap quilts and tutorials so you can make your own. And now it’s your turn to share what your moving along. Link up and let us see your progress.

I love your aqua colors – aqua is a favorite of mine and I haven't used it lately – I used to use it so much I think I have used up almost all the aqua colors in my stash.

We've both been working with aqua/turquoise this week. Your dresden plates look super.

The aqua colors give such a fresh look. Like spring is around the corner.

When I started quilting, turquoise Aqua was a color I used a lot. It's probably one of the reasons why I wanted to do Bonnie's mystery this year. I love Dresden quilts and like where you are heading with this one!

Dresdens are my favorite block anyways, but in aqua they are gorgeous!

Your aqua Dresdens are so pretty with your other warm red ones. Glad you stuck with your color instinct, it served you well.

Love your Dresdens! They are so sweet! It makes me want to start making them again. I just finished a Dresden Plate quilt. They looked wonderful on that striped fabric too! Not sure if that is your plan for any of them, but they really do!
