Moving It Forward

I’m slowly adding to my quarter square log cabin blocks. I figure I’m at least half way. Being summer I’m getting fewer hours in my sewing room.

Instead I’ve been following a favorite tradition of mine.  After my children graduate I take them on a fun trip just the two of us. My Anna choose to go to Colorado. So last Tuesday we headed out. We visited Vale.

Purchased matching bracelets.

 Ate a Bubba Gumps

Attended a concert at Red Rock Amphitheater.

 And took the tram up

to Glennwood Caverns Adventure park.

It was a fun week. So great to spend one on one time with my daughter before she heads off on other great adventures. Now it’s your turn. What great adventure did you have in your sewing room? Have you moved a project closer to completion? Link up and let us see.

I would not have guessed that the L.C. with the variety of color, would turn out so clever! Somehow, the shape seems to carry it thru – I really like it!

I was also in Colorado same time as you, RMNP, with grandaughter! Good time for both of us. (elaineadairpieces)

That sounds like a fabulous trip for you two. I know she will carry those memories forever.

Your blocks are so pretty too.

Did you try that fix for your e-mails? It has worked for me.

Congratulations on your daughter's graduation! I love your special trip tradition. Your quarter square log cabin blocks intrigue me, too — not sure I've ever seen that before, but I'm digging it! A similar vibe to clam shells, but more angular… Kind of Art Deco? And as always, you have the best scraps. I do wonder, though, with all these fabulous scrappy quilts that you make, why don't your scraps ever run out? Have you figured out how to BREED fabric scraps in your sewing room??? 😉
