Moving It Forward

My design wall was bare. So I decided to throw these blocks up.  I knew I still had several blocks to make in order to have enough for the size quilt I wanted. But I wanted to start arranging and playing with ideas.

So in addition to the blocks I dove into my bits bin and go these pretty little bits. So I could make more blocks.

Here is the idea I’m toying with. I’m thinking of a gradation from light to dark gray blocks. I’ve got all the light gray blocks about done. But since I’ve still got about 15 each of the other two grays this is bond to change a little.

Hoping to find a little time this week to finish up the blocks and settle on a design. The weather is suppose to be raining so I won’t feel guilty sewing instead of working in the yard.

Now it’s your turn to show us what you’ve been up to. Link up and let us see your progress.

Interesting grading … nice way to use up scraps but have some controlled color too. I'm looking forward to the finished top.

Your preliminary layout looks good. Isn't it fun to play with layouts? I used to struggle so much with them, until many bloggers wrote about setting them up and "sitting" with them for a few days….so grateful for bloggers!
