You may remember a while back I told you I had received a bunch of tops from the quilt shop that helped me get started. You can read about that here. This is one of those tops.

I was a little worried about quilting this one because of the minky fabric. I seriously thought about sending it to Ruth to do on her long arm. I probably would have except that I had a piece of batting that fit it perfectly. At the moment I only need to send tops and backs to Ruth. Our friend, Vivian donated a bolt of polyester batting for Quilty Hugs. I can’t quilt that stuff on my Bernina so Ruth took it to use with her long arm. So it I bit the bullet and decided to give it a try. I did pretty good. I had a hard time in the fuzzy minky knowing where I had already quilted. So I had a bit of this problem.

I found if I quilted the whole square before going anywhere else in the quilt I did better. I think it will make a nice quilt for a little girl fighting cancer. I’m sure she won’t mind my overlapping in quilting.

Linking up with Sarah and Amanda Jean to celebrate.
