Scrappy Layer Cake Friendly Quilt

What’s a girl to do when she has an extra layer cake lying around looking for a home.  Find it a home of course.  Meet North Star.  The result of said home finding.

This is a quick, easy quilt to make.  It can easily be made in a day using strip piecing.

Do you have a layer cake you’ve been looking to make into a quilt?  This could be your answer.

The pattern is now available on my website.  Find it and other pre cut and scrap quilt patterns along with my class schedule.

I have a question about your pattern…Nine Patch Stretch. It says to cut 3 (2/12 inch) strips fro strip sets. Then when it gets to the part of sewing together the strip sets it says to " Join 2 (1 3/4" – wide ) print strips and
2 (1 1/2" – wide) print strips as shown in Strip Set #3 Diagram"

My question is do I cut those 2 1/2 in strips into the smaller strips now? It seems like a waste of materials with the directions written that way. I never saw any directions to subcut the 2 1/2 inch strips to 1 3/4 and 1/ 1/2 inch….

Hope you understand my question! Thanks..love the pattern…
