Strip Quilt Challenge

Do you have scrappy fabric strips?  Are you looking for a fun way to turn them into a great scrap quilt?  Do you need a little motivation?  Would you like a chance at a $25 gift card to Fat Quarter Shop?  Then I’ve go just the thing for you.  Join me for a strip quilt challenge through Aunt Em’s Sew Along Adventure.

The challenge is to take a pound of scrappy strips.  Sew them into strip sets.  Then cut them up as you desire and use them in a quilt.  Feel free to make a wall hanging, table runner, baby quilt or larger quilt.  Here are some ideas to get your going on the strip quilt challenge.  Just a jumping off point to get those creative juices going.

You could sub cut them into strip for a coin quilt.

Use a Essential Triangle Ruler for half square or quarter square triangles.

Try a 60* triangle or wedge ruler for stars, diamonds or beads.  A Dresden is also an option for this type of ruler.

Maybe wonky is your style.

This is your quilt.  The only challenge is to sew the strips together and then sub-cut.

I look forward to seeing what you create.

There will be two $25 gift card prizes.  One that I choose and one for viewer choice.

You must be a member of Aunt Em’s Sew Along to win.  Click to get details about the membership and to sign up.   You have until March 5th to finish the project.  It can be a flimsy to enter.

I can’t wait to see what you create for  The Strip Quilt Challenge
