It seems fitting with Thanksgiving happening yesterday to express a little gratitude. I am truly blessed. Eighteen years ago I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease that attacks my blood. Now many would think that tragic. I guess in some ways it is. But in many ways it’s been a blessing. Through my treatments, that took place in chemo labs, I have met many wonderful people. One of whom inspired me to start Quilty Hugs.
My ITP is inactive now, for the first time in 17 years my blood counts are normal. Thankfully Quilty Hugs lives on. I’m thankful for all the wonderful quilters that give so generously to help those fighting cancer. The quilt above was made one of those giving quilters. A tutorial on how to make it can be found here.
This one was also done at one of my sew ins. Still need to get it quilted. In addition to my sewing angels. I’d like to thank Sarah for her push each year through Hands2Help. Also the many quilters that send so many wonderful quilts at that time. And Kristi who sends me boxes of beautiful quilts year round. All these quilts bring so much comfort. I appreciate everyone’s help so alleviate some of the suffering that goes with this terrible disease.
I am so happy for you!! I too have autoimmune junk…it is a lifelong thing. Lovely quilts!!
And me too – I too have autoimmune diseases – I am so glad that you show no trace right now!! that is such good news for you – I'm in a medication controlled remission for years – do you take all size quilts or just certain sizes?
I have my little ministry giving quilty hugs every three weeks when hubs gets chemo. It truly gives me great joy to do this.
Congrats on the normal levels! Hugs.
So glad for you. The quilts is a wonderful different ways to use scraps. Thanks for the patterns. Bless you for all the comfort you provide.
It's great to hear you are in remission. What a blessing for you and to all of the generous people you have met through your journey.
Keep doing what you are doing to spread some joy to others.
Congratulations on your improved health and best wishes for the future.
Blessings to you! I am inspired by how you have taken your challenges and turned them into blessings for others. That is truly a gift from the heart. I'm so glad I can help and support you in sharing Quilty Hugs! That just makes my sewing ever more sweet to know that it brings comfort to many. Happy Thanksgiving!
I am very happy for you. Wishing that it stays this way so your future can be worry free and you can continue to create these lovely quilts!

Great news about your blood counts. Hugs
What a wonderful project. Well done!
I have ITP too, although I have never been treated for it. I love your quilts—they are very bright & cheerful but still traditional.
