Tuesday Tutorial ~ Quilting Helps

I currently have two quilts basted and three flimsies in need of basting.  Since I have a lot of free motion quilting in my future I thought I’d share a few tutorials with tips on quilting your quilt. I really love big stitch on quilts. It takes a little more time but I love the impact it has. Sherri has a wonderfultutorial on this method.

It I’m going to be repeating an image in my quilting I like to cut it out of contact paper. This allows me to repeat the image uniformly throughout my quilt. If you would like to see my method you can go here.

This method works well with baptist fan. To learn how to cut your archs check out thislink.

Do you have any great tips or tricks you use to get your quilt quilted?  I’d love to learn from you. Please share.

Thanks for the good info. I am on my way to check out the link but I want to say I really like the freezer paper idea. You can use the paper to sew a perfect fan and then free motion in it. Love it.

I just finished Baptist Fans in perle #12 on a quilt but need a new method for marking on the next one since I used an old heavy heavy cardboard one that was in some things my daughter brought to me from a garage sale find. It is pretty worn out now so I've definitely bookmarked your tutorial using contact paper. I never even thought of that method! Thanks!
