Sometimes I forget things. Take for example, the other day while talking to my son on the phone I was interrupted.  I lost my train of thought and asked him what we had been talking about. Apparently I had been telling him how young I had been feeling. That although my chronological age is increasing my mind and body are doing well. He found this little incident quite funny.

The reason for making this quilt is similar.  I realized after agreeing to teach this quilt that I gave the original one away.  It seems in addition to being forgetful I am also an avid giver of quilts.

Without a class display, I dove into my scrap bins to remedy this problem. Thankfully most of my patterns scrap friendly. Even the ones that I design around a certain fabric line. I quilted it simply with stars and swirls.  And bond it with a scrappy blue binding.

Now, barring anymore senior moments I’m ready for my Twinkle class. Plus when the class is over I’ll have another great quilt available to share with someone in need of a Quilty Hug.

I guess senior moments and avid quilt giving is not all bad.

Neither is that bad unless the Senior Moment causes you to give a quilt away twice.

LOL! I posit that we have a shelf in our brain. It's where we "store" our memories. As the shelf becomes full, memories are pushed off the edge. Of course the more recent memories are the ones on the edge, so they are lost, whereas the older memories are at the back, so they remain. Kind of like how we have out of date stuff lingering in pantries because they lurk at the back. Or maybe I'm the only one who does that? LOL! Beautiful quilt.

Your post made me laugh! Totally something I would do 'what was I talking about?' hehe You easily made another great version of your quilt so I guess it worked out!

Love hearing your senior moment story. I just published a post about mine . . . must be something in the air, LOL.
Your quilt is one of the prettiest that I have ever seen . . . I love everything about it.
    Happy Quilting!
