You don’t have to read this blog long to discover my love of scraps.
I love the tiniest bits. I even have a special home for them. I call it my bits bin. Delving into it is one of my greatest joys. Finding homes for those itty bitty pieces is so fulfilling.
In addition to my bits bin I have bins of strips. I have three of these bins; one for 1 1/2″ strips, one for 2 1/2″ strips,
and one for random width strips.
Along with the bits bin and strips bins I have scrap bins sorted according to color; red, yellow, orange, navy, aqua, green, black/gray, purple/pink, and brown. These bins contain anything bigger than a charm square but smaller than a fat quarter.
Whenever a bin gets so full the lid can no longer be put on I make a quilt using that bin.
For the next little while I thought it would be fun on Wednesdays to share quilts that have come from the various bins. Maybe share a little process on how they came to be. And maybe add a few more with tutorials along they way. Would this be helpful to you? What are your thoughts?
Em, your sunshiny quilts are always a feast for the eyes and your tutorials are always welcome and a fun read!
I would love to see your bits, strips, & scraps quilts, finished and in progress. I'm also trying to learn to make pretty, scrappy quilts so tips are appreciated. Organizational tips are always welcomed as well.
Yes please! Always looking forward to seeing others ideas for using scraps and strips!
Love scraps especially others. Will look forward to seeing any all projects.
I love all of your scrappy goodness.
Yes please. I need all the help I can get in using up those bits and pieces that are still "useful" 🙂
Yes please, I have no idea what to do with my black scraps and I never have any light scraps, so seeing your all blue quilt was helpful. Thank you.
