For someone who is not fond of cutting, pre-cuts are a godsend. I love that I get a bit of every fabric in a line without having to buy yardage of each pretty fabric. I don’t mind when I have leftovers. As a scrap quilter they make wonderful additions to a scrap bin.
Even before pre-cuts were bin I loved the Nickel Quilt books. My guild did a nickel exchange and then we all made quilts from these books. It was a lot of fun. Having the books makes for great eye candy and is a great way to use leftover charm squares.

Making Majestic Mountain blocks from layer cakes squares is one of my favorite things to do with a layer cake. This little quilt is one I did just that with.

This was another play on the majestic mountain block I did with a layer cake.

Jellyrolls are also fun and there are so many possibilities. Here are just a few.

What is your favorite pre-cut. What do you like to make with it? Or do you like to just collect them? Craftys has a great selection of pre-cuts just in case you want to stock up.
I like them too – I think I tend to want fat quarter bundles but it depends on the price! a lot of times if I really want a line but the money is tighter I will go with a jelly roll or just charms – they do add to the scraps.
I love them all. Right now layer cakes are my favorite! But that will change!
I love them all, they look so cute sitting about the sewing room as decor. But when buying I lean towards the best value for my money and that would be FQ bundles. I'll sometimes buy a charm pack just to see what a line looks like before making the bigger purchase.
I love using bright jelly rolls for baby/kid quilts! Just so fun, and the variety in fabrics adds complexity to simple piecing.
Charm pack to check the colors and then if I like them its usually a layercake
I own them but I have yet to make anything from a layer cake. I just love scraps – they are precut aren't they?
I like nickels, and have made many quilts from Pat Speth's books.
I love them all, and I use them to add to the scraps that I already have to make more quilt. Thanks for the book suggestions!
I like precuts due to their convenience. I also buy plenty of remnants from my LQS or TOB and cut my own strips, charms or layer cakes. A LQS has plenty of $1 FQ sales so I do have a bunch of those to.
Now to sew my way through all of this fabric would be a dream come true.
My favorite is jelly rolls…i do a lot of strip quilts….

I guess I would have to say Jelly rolls, however it just depends on what pattern I want to make.
I've been cutting all my scraps into 2 1/2 inch strips. Then I can use jelly roll patterns! When I need to clean out one of my scrap bins I find a fun jelly roll pattern and cut away. I use those for mostly leader-ender projects. I rarely buy pre-cuts though because all my fabric is washed in my stash and I haven't been brave enough to mix-in unwashed precuts…
Beautiful quilts and great use of pre-cuts! I like charm packs very much as a sampler.
I hate cutting so much that I learned how to quilt with paper piecing 🙂

I like cakes, jelly rolls and 5 inch charms. I have yet to try the triangle ones but they are on the list. love watching Jenny of Missouri Star work magic with them.
