Let’s Explore Scrap Busting to Create Crumb Quilts

You know I love to create crumb quilts. I began scrap quilting when my boys were little and money was tight. I had sewn from the age of ten. So I had fabric. In fact, back in the day, I dreamed of being a fashion designer. Pretty funny! Quilting is a much better fit to my personality. Plus the community is so much nicer. Anyway, after the birth of my third son I began quilting with some ladies at my church. Using the scraps I had plus what was so generously shared. I fell in love. I’ve been quilting ever since. My youngest son turns 26 this September. So that’s some serious scrap quilting.

Fast forward to a year and a half ago. My babies had all left home. A world wide pandemic decided to rock our world and canceled all my teaching plans. I felt isolated and really sad. My poor hubby didn’t know what to do with my dejection and tears. He was great but assurances that it was not my fault. Were not helping the situation.

Fortunately for both of us, David and Charles reached out to me about doing a book based on my Making Modern Crumb Quilts YouTube video. Their offer kept me sane and busy during the shut down. I had so much fun creating. I created bed quilts.

Beaded Curtain

I took the time to create a pattern for my love pillow. People had been asking for it. I just never found the time. Now it’s finally available. Yippee!

Love Pillow

I’ve included a token man quilt for my boys. So thankful for their love and support. The fact that they love and use my quilts means a lot. So you knew there would be a quilt for them in the bunch.

Loose Change

I’ve created a video with more of a peek into Crumb Quilts. Just incase you’d like more details.

You can get your copy of Crumb Quilts in my shop. Have fun playing in your scraps!
