The friendship star is a happy little quilt block. I recently dove into my leftover jellyroll strips and scrap bins to whip up a bunch of this classic block.
It was fun to play with different color combinations. I tried to stick with low volume backgrounds and bright happy prints for the stars.
These blocks are part of my secret project. Just another sneak peak of things to come. I can’t tell you how much fun I’m having creating classic blocks in lots of scrappy color combos. I’m soooo excited to see how this little idea evolves and becomes another great scrap quilt.
If this little block is making your heart sing. You can use my tutorial to whip up a few of your own. I’ve used it in several of my quilt patterns. I believe it is in all my Sew Along quilts. Harvest sky and Union also feature the friendship star. Feel free to use these are a jumping off place. Or see where your own creativity takes you.
