Successfully Free Motion Quilting Your Quilt

I used to really struggle when it came to free motion quilting my quilt. I never knew what to put where. It was such a mystery. Not any more. In fact sometimes I have more ideas than what I need. How did this happen? Let me tell you. HollyAnne taught me how to make a plan.

I don’t know why this never occurred to me before. I’m a planner after all. Lists are my life. I use a planner. Goals drive me. Why did I never think that creating a plan for my quilting? Who knows? Thanks to Holly Anne I’m able to sketch out blocks or areas of my quilt and audition different quilting motifs. It’s fun to experiment with how swirls, feathers or other motifs may look on my quilt. There are several ways to do this. I share the ones I use in this post.
